Shannon is the founder of Walk of Life Consulting, the first international career advisory business focused solely on the sustainability, social impact, inclusive economy, international development and Corporate Responsibility (CR) fields.
She has more than 20 years’ recruiting, mentoring and training 1000+ professionals and Masters graduates in the impact sector, with over 3000 hours of one2one career coaching.
Previously she worked as a hiring manager, a business coach and a CR consultant for Deloitte, Corporate Citizenship, Barclays, Adobe and WWF, having started her career as a Recruiter in IT Management Consulting.
Shannon has also spent 10 years as a practitioner managing CR projects globally for FTSE 250 clients – Argos/Homebase, Barclays Global Investors, Cadbury Schweppes, EMI, L’Oreal, Nokia, Reuters, UNICEF, and Vodafone Group. A passionate sustainability entrepreneur at heart, Shannon spent three years founding and running an eco-tourism company in the remote depths of Patagonia, Chile before returning to graduate school.
She holds an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird in Arizona and Switzerland as well as a BS in Sociology from the University of Colorado. Shannon is ICF Approved (International Coach Federation) with the ACSTH qualification and speaks fluent French and Spanish and rusty Italian.
She has served in leadership roles for Net Impact since 2003 and is currently an Advisor to the CEO on careers strategies for their members. Shannon is a brave Nissan Leaf driver.
Charlotte is our Associate Career Coach, advising clients on personal branding to make career transitions. As a qualified Insights Discovery™ practitioner, CEB Ability Assessor and Personality Profiler, she is well placed to help impact and change leaders achieve their dream careers.
Previously she spent 10 years driving five high profile global sustainability programmes as Sustainability Manager for innocent drinks and The Prince’s International Sustainability Unit, and from a secondment into McKinsey and Co from The Climate Group.
For three years, Charlotte spearheaded and led The Prince’s Marine Programme, building consensus among 500+ fishing industry experts and gaining endorsements from David Milliband, Bob Zoellick and the President of Iceland at The Economist World Ocean Summit 2012 in Singapore.
Charlotte has been interviewed on the BBC News and quoted in articles in The Guardian, BBC News, and Edie. She was one of five people to appear in a film alongside HRH The Prince of Wales, Sir Alan Knight and Polly Courtice and her strawberry project for innocent drinks won the Guardian Sustainable Business Award 2016.
As part of her own venture, The Action Lab, she has delivered 10 transformational team training and development workshops for innocent drinks and Thames Tideway, which received 100% positive feedback.
Charlotte holds an MSc Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, a BSc Geography from University College London. She currently lives in London but is always looking for an excuse to head for the hills.
Alanna is the Client Support and Marketing Assistant. With a passion for writing, editing video, and learning she has used her career to creatively impact sustainable change.
As Marketing Outreach Career Associate at Texas State University she supported sustainability-minded career advisors and educators to connect students and employers. She created the content for a sustainability “What Can I Do With This Degree” informational packet and developed eight Career Services blog posts.

Alanna holds a 2012 Bachelor’s degree in English from Texas State University and currently lives in central Texas where she enjoys reading, painting, and quality time with her one year old.
Allie Cashel is our Project Manager based in New York, helping to design and launch the online course and to edit/write thought leadership content for our blog and upcoming book, Purpose-full Careers. Before joining the Walk of Life team, Allie worked as a founding member of a certified B Corporation and social action startup, Postcard.com, where she developed and ran Postcard Educate, a platform empowering teachers to bring activism into the classroom.
She is a published author of “Suffering the Silence: Chronic Lyme disease in an Age of Denial”, North Atlantic Books. As Co-founder of nonprofit organization, The Suffering the Silence Community, Inc, she is dedicated to using art, media, and storytelling to raise awareness around the life experience of people living with chronic illness.
A joint UK/US citizen, Allie has been invited to speak at events around the US and Europe ranging from private fundraisers to congressional forums, from medical schools to book stores and support groups. She hosted and organized the 2015 Suffering the Silence Symposium in London and is the Chair of the Global Lyme Alliance Young Leadership Council.
Allie earned her BA in Written Arts from Bard College, where Shannon is Adjunct Faculty on the Bard MBA Career Course.
Chris has been managing the evolution of the Walk of Life website and monthly newsletter for the past four years.
A self confessed tech geek Chris is a specialist in digital communications strategies and software product development with over 7 years experience delivering high profile projects across the digital space. Chris is a Co-Founder of the design studio Wolf&Player, who specialise in working with social and environmental organisations. Previous and current work includes projects for SustainAbility, Volans and John Elkington.
